SEF Advance + jReviews (rc2) & disappearing menu module

17 years 3 weeks ago #665 by andyweb
Hi Emir, I’m having some issues on the site: www.eldolia.com where clicking on a jReviews content item causes the main menu module on the left to disappear.
Eg: @ www.eldolia.com/casino/ , clicking on any of the casinos listed.

I will be happy to pay you for your services in assisting us with this. And can send you all logins etc.. you’d need via pm or email.

Alejandro has been trying to assist me with this, and made some changes to the jreviews source code and I quote: “I made some changes to the module so it calculates the Itemid the Joomla way, and it still does not work. The links on the casino page are these now:

index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1875&Itemid=565
etc…

565 is the Accueil menu, which includes several categories, so it seems correct. But the menu is still lost…”

While previously the only problem was the menu module disappearing, now since Alej made those changes, when a casino is clicked the content doesn’t seem to be linking correctly either, and I’m just thrown back to the homepage (default 404 action for the moment).

Alej reckoned it’s best I took this matter up with you, and says to explain that the issue as far as he’s aware is with a simple content link. Not sure I understand what he means, as much of this is a little “over my head”.

What might be complicating things, is that I have made a “hidden” unpublished menu containing “Table - Content Category” links for the various jReviews content items, eg. Casinos. The purpose of this is for the content items to picked up by joomap.

I did submit a query via the contact form on your site, but have not heard anything as yet. If you are able to help us out, I’ll attempt to explain things a little more comprehensively and as best I can.

Thanks,
Andrew
