feature request: block special characters in "username" and "name" fields

I noticed that Joomla core has no any restriction on "username" and "name" field during user registration. This is very bad.

It is very often that I saw people input Empty Space or other special characters in their "username" field on the registration form. And then Joomla core accepted that! I want to prevent those usernames, but there is no option for that!

Today I saw another user successfully registered on my website with following "Name" value:

Yes, this is his single "Name" field value. I want to limit the length of "Name" when registrating, but there is no such an option in Joomla core, nor AJAX Register component.

Could you please add new feature to AJAX Register to :

1. block special characters in "username" and "name" fields;
2. limit the length of "username" and "name" fields vaule.

You can already block certain words (wildcards supported) for username in AJAX Register (Options button > Filters tab).
Maybe you missed that.

But sure, it could be expanded to impose restrictions on other core fields. I will have a look on that.

I had saw that, but how can I define the rule "prohibit empty space character in username" or "username can not contain ANY one of Chinese language characters"?

So I think this feature need to be enhanced.
