IJoomla News Portal
« on: 11 March 2007, 12:13 »
Hi,
SEF Advance works great on my site. I bought Ijoomla News Portal, and it seems not to like something in the Module that comes with it.

The News Module - the links end in "filename.htm.html".
Whereas all the other links from anywhere else just ends in "filename.html", as it should.

If I leave the extention blank in the SEF Settings then the Urls are just the path and no extention, just like the rest of the urls, so it works if you don't fill in an extention.
I have install and uninstalled SEF advanced, and the News Module

I spoke to the owner of Ijoomla Newsportal and he is stumped?

Can anyone shed some light on this.

Regards
Glenn

Hello Glenn,

Maybe you are not aware but SEF Advance is paid software, You are running illegal warez version of the software.

Please uninstall the pirated version, purchase the software and install the latest version of SEF Advance. Then everything will work fine, if not I will be happy to help.

Hi,
I got this version from joomla.org over a year ago. I was building one of my old Joomla sites and remember downloading a load of extentions at the time.
So if it is an illegal copy it was done without my knowledge.

I did notice that the latest version is on a comercial licence, so I thought my version must have been an old free version

I will purchase a proper copy today.

Thanks for pointing this out to me.

Regards
Glenn

SEF Advance has never been free. The version you are using is hacked and I don't think you could obtain it on joomla.org (unless someone posted illegal link to warez on forums).

I trust you weren't aware of that, otherwise you wouldn't sent me your FTP info, I could have deleted everything. :)

Hi,
I can tell  you honestly that I was totally unaware.

I did download around twenty things on the one day from joomla. My file save date was around the 20 April 2006. So I cannot recall exactly where the exact download link was. I did do a lot of research into the differnt extentions, so it quite possibly could have come off a forum.
So Appologies for that.

I will place the order later today.

Glenn

Hi,
I decided to try the trial version - gut feeling.
It is still the same filename.htm.html only on Ijoomla News Portal Component.

I completly checked the old component was fully uninstalled.

I also ran your sef_advance_tester.php . all is well.

Hi,

It seems I deleted your admin password info. Can you please send it again?

Also have you ever installed OpenSEF? In that case you need to remove all OpenSEF tables from database cause they seem to interfere with the extension for iJoomla.

Hi,
Thanks.

I resent the details.
I deleted the tables and now it seems to have soved the double extention BUT it ends with inde.html - the X is missing?

It's solved now.

For anyone who would get the same problem:
1. Make sure you clean remain database tables of any other SEF component except for SEF Advance (use phpMyAdmin)
2. In the iJoomla SEF extension (./components/com_news_portal/sef_ext.php) on the line 52 instead of:
$encode_page_suffix="";
put:
$encode_page_suffix="/";

Then it will work as expected.

Hi,

Bought the Component.

Working fine except:

It is not showing Top Stories or Section Headings.
Click on the Menu links in  "Hot Travel News". this is the Ijoomla News Portal Module.

You will see an Orange line at the top with no setion heading and no Top Story.
If you exclude Ijoomla News Portal In SEF Advanced, it works as it should by showing the Headers and top stories.
Any Ideas?

PS: I have cashe disabled in SEF settings.

Regards
Glenn
