My name is Emir Sakić and I was born in Sarajevo,
Bosnia-Herzegovina.I spent my childhood in a small town in eastern Bosnia called Višegrad.
In 1989 I moved back to capital Sarajevo where I started the highschool.
The war in Bosnia began in 1992. After finished highschool I began studies of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sarajevo.
I joined the Bosnian Army as I turned 18 and spent 2 years in military until the war ended in the end of 1995.
In the beginning of 1996 I moved to Sweden where I continued my studies.
Year 2001 I gained a degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Dalarna University College.
I moved to Stockholm in 2002 where I continued the studies and gained a degree of Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
In 2001 I became interested in web programming. Since 2002 I have been a core developer of Mambo Open Source, today known as Joomla!, an award winning web content management system.
