Recommend SPECIFIC Page
« on: 11 January 2009, 23:37 »
Hi,

I just purchased and installed AJAX recommend, and I really like the interface and the ability to add multiple referrals at once.

However, I'm having a big problem. No matter what page I am on, the e-mail I recieve is ALWAYS the root homepage. For example:
http://socialcharm.net/myblog/index.php

If I recommend the page to myself, I get the following e-mail:
Quote
Hello!

Brendan (brendan.florez@gmail.com) invites you to visit Social Charm - The Science of Suave - Advanced Social Dyamics Training
Go to: http://socialcharm.net

Brendan tells you:
Testing the recommend feature out!

The whole reason I want this module is to let a user recommend a specific page to a friend, not just the home page.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks very much,
Brendan

That's more a feature request. A good one.
I will have a look and possibly add this feature in next version. Tomorrow if I get some time.

That would be fantastic - let me know, since im sure a LOT of people would like this feature, and if not I'm going to have to find a different module :) If you could do it in the next day or two that would really help me out.

Thanks very much,
Brendan

Hello,

This feature has been added now to version 2.1.
The option is found in module parameters and you have to activate it (the default is off).

Hiya Saka,

I have just installed version 2.1, and tried the SPECIFIC page option.
Sadly I can only get the module to send the root URL.

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

I just tested on my test site on Joomla 1.5 and it works fine.
Have you set "Link to specific page" in module configurations to Yes?

Strange, works fine on my site. Please send a mail with access info (admin password and FTP) and I will have to look on your installation.

You had two ajaxrecommend modules and "Link to specific page" was not activated in the other one. And AJAX Recommend was taking settings from that one because the lower ID.

I activated that in the other module too and now it works. If it's important to you to have individual settings let me know, I will have to make some changes in the module in that case.

Fixed now in v2.2. The parameters can now be setup individually in case you have multiple instances of the module on your site.
