Hi Saka, me again  Wink

Using SEF Advance 5.4.0, SMF 1.1.4, and Orstio Bridge 1.1.7 with J! 1.0.12, I discovered an issue with quotes not working in my bridge SMF forum. I am using your .htaccess file.  Here is the problem:

This is the link generated in the forum:
Quote from: LINK

However, clicking it and THIS shows up in the address bar, and all I see is my board's index:
Quote from: AFTER CLICKING

After I altered the address URL manually to take out .html? and move .html to the end, change ? to /, = to , --- it works, but am I missing something, and how can I fix this permanently?
Quote from: THIS WORKS

Does SEF Advance strip the word component from the URL?  i.e.

www.kaitech.hk/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,71.html

becomes

www.kaitech.hk/option,com_smf/Itemid,71.html

This is normal behavior right?

OK - do you think my problem relates to SEF Advance?

I've tested without SEF Advance enabled, this is what happens:

Quote from: link generated

Quote from: after clicking

Even though the links differ, it still "works"...

I don't understand your problem at all, sorry. :S Looks like SMF does some kind of falty redirect.
Why don't you just disable SEF for forum if you don't have human friendly URLs anyway?

You mean set SEF Advance to 'ignore' SMF Bridge component?  Should I ignore the SMF registration as well?

Yes. No big point in having SEF on registration links.

I set SEF Advance to ignore the two... and got some strange generated URLs:

http://www.kaitech.hk/index.php?option,com_smf&/Itemid,71&/board,6.0

Looks like it can't decide if it's SEF or not.

Great! Let me know if you need admin access. If you sign up for an account on my site you will see first hand the quoting issues, amongst others...

My site was mostly working fine before using SEF Advance, but I'll be glad to help in any way possible to sort out the bug(s) with SMF.

Also, I had to disable my .html suffix because it was causing some problems with SMF... but this is not necessarily SEF Advance's fault, probably SMF bridge will need modification as well.

Hi, have you had a chance to diagnose the problem?

Is anyone else using Joomla + SMF bridge + SEF Advance here?

1. Is this still being looked at?

2. I created a custom SMF module that looks at the global $mosConfig_sef to determine if SEF URLs should be output. When SEF Advance is turned ON, the module is not recognizing $mosConfig_sef is set to on.

Not yet. It takes some time as support for 3rd party components is not priority. But it is on my list.

$mosConfig_sef is set if SEF is turned on in global configurations regardless of SEF Advance settings.
