I just installed 4.8 with the SMF Bridge installed, 1.1.7 (Orstio) and it aparently is not compatable, as the 4.6 was. Orstio worked on it for a long time but could not get it to function. I uninstalled Advanced SEF and came up with numerous errors and could not connect to the site. I need to uninstall 4.8 so that my forums can be used again, and to install 4.6 that I sent an e-mail request for.

Got it uninstalled, had to replace the sef.php and old .htaccess files. Now just have to wait for the 4.6 version and hope it works.

Thanks,

Hag

Versions 4.6 and 4.8 have no differencies whatsoever in regards to any components. They work exactly the same, especially when caching feature is turned off.

So your problems must depend on something else. If you have problems with particular component delete the component's SEF extension (sef_ext.php) or turn on ignore for that component in SEF Advance configurations.

No previous versions can be sent by me, only the latest one. If you need a previous version you must keep your own backup.

I disabled the SMF Bridge Component in SEF Advance and replaced the sef.php in the Includes folder with the Joomla original, and have it working with everything else and can log into the forums and post now.

I did it as you said.

If i disable the bridge i am getting this:

The page you are trying to access does not exist.
Please select a page from the main menu.

i am fighting with this more than week and i am a little hopeless now:)

Does anybody knows what to do to make it compatible?Huh

Do you have the SMF Bridge version 1.1.7 from Orstio?

I have read that there were many issues with the earlier versions of the bridge.

If you get this make sure the component has been added to main menu and it's public (not registered).
