In the version of Sef Advance for joomla 1.5 there is an option called Replace where inside there was this entry: Encode exceptions so you can insert a symbol, for example ":" in the url and now and then there can not to have the same url

Joomla 1.7 version use title alias only, so there is no URL encode. If you need to replace anything you replace it directly in the title alias of the item.

Yes, Joomla replaces punctuation in alias, thus also in URLs. If you really need punctuation in URLs I guess you can set transliteration to No in Global Configuration and it should not be replaced.

I tried both Alias & Meta Redirects that but I always get 404 page
