404 Error in Archives
« on: 29 January 2010, 17:56 »
Hi,
I've configured my archive string to "dominican-republic-news-archive" and this works fine for the first page of the archives, but when you click on page 2, 3, ,4 ,5 etc, I get a 404 errors.

I've turned off global SEO and it works fine giving the following urls that work:

My site URL is http://www.therealdr.com

Initial Archive Page
/index.php?option=com_content&view=archive&year=2007&month=05

Second Archive Page
/index.php?option=com_content&view=archive&year=2007&month=05&limitstart=20

I've tried turning off "re-direct non-sef urls" but it doesn't make any difference.

I've searched through forums but can't seem to find a fix. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Many thanks in advance.

Pete

Hi,
While I can now navigate correctly from page 1 to 2 etc, I now have a series of 403 errors in my Google webmaster tools - please see below:

Go to URLhttp://www.therealdr.com/.html?option=com_content&view=archive&year=2007&month=08&limitstart=20

Go to URLhttp://www.therealdr.com/.html?option=com_content&view=archive&year=2007&month=11&limitstart=20

Do you have any idea why this may have happened as it all apears to be connected to the SEF configuration of the archive.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards,

Pete

Google webmasters tools tends to find all kinds of strange URLs even if they are not anywhere on the site. So I wouldn't be concerned about that unless you can find where is that exact link generated on your site.
