1096  Products / SEF Advance / Re: Some configuration on: 29 March 2007, 17:43
You can't skip name of the section. The URL will always be like:
domain.com/section/category/item/

You can't have
domain.com/category/item/
(unless you use alias)
1097  Products / SEF Advance / Re: SEF Advance extension for Community Builder on: 28 March 2007, 17:02
Again having it in form:
mydomain.com/username
even if it could be achieved would cause unneccessary load and many problems.

I suggest you drop that idea, install CB extension and settle on:
mydomain.com/profile/username

Hello,

I am working on this now. If you have a populated Docman site please contact me so we can test the extension.

Thanks.

OK, after looking at this I can conclude that the problem is in the extension for iJoomla component which, after conversion gives URLs like:
Quote
index.php?option=com_news_portal&Itemid=option=com_news_portal&task=category&id=&Itemid=
that are completely wrong.

I suggest you contact iJoomla author for support or deactivate SEF for this component in SEF Advance configuration.
1101  Products / SEF Advance / Re: IJoomla News Portal on: 26 March 2007, 12:18
Is your iJoomla added to menu too as component?

It's best to just send me the URLs that doesn't work along with your admin password and FTP access and I will have a look.
1102  Products / SEF Advance / Re: IJoomla News Portal on: 26 March 2007, 11:26
Existing sections / categories should have Itemid as well. The reason why they don't probably lies in some of the following:

- Make sure that particular item is added to main menu (not as URL but as content, component or blog) and it's made public, not registered.

- Make sure there are no duplicates for that menu entry (not even unpublished ones)

- Make sure that the trash is emptied for menu entries.

Look at the bottom of the page.
1104  Products / SEF Advance / Re: is it possible? on: 26 March 2007, 10:18
SEF Advance extension files (sef_ext.php) are made for 3rd party components only.
The SEF behavior for content is within encoded part of SEF Advance and no modifications can be done there.

As I said, SEF Advance isn't suposed to deal with hacked core files. I suggest you turn your hacks into a real component which will allow you to write the extension file and get SEF URLs for that.

If you still absolutely need SEF Advance to support your content hack the only option you have is to hire me for custom project.
1105  Products / SEF Advance / Re: You are not authorised to view this resource. on: 26 March 2007, 09:20
It's Itemid issue. Make sure that particular item is added to main menu (not as URL but as content, component or blog) and it's made public, not registered.

Also make sure there are no duplicates for that menu entry (not even unpublished ones) and that the trash is emptied for menu entries.

Turn on debug in SEF Advance.
1107  Products / SEF Advance / Re: Test Installation failed after some configuration on: 24 March 2007, 11:07
It's best to install it on a test site, like www.domain.com/test/ and then send me access to have a look.
1108  Products / SEF Advance / Re: is it possible? on: 23 March 2007, 17:25
The part where you quoted original URL in the first post fell apart so I couldn't see it. Now when I looked at the HTML source I saw that you were modifying content URLs imputing that to SEF function.

No, that's not possible because SEF Advance is made to deal with unmodified Joomla's content and can't support any hacks.

However, you could use URL alias but you will have to enter each URL manually.
1109  Products / SEF Advance / Re: Test Installation failed after some configuration on: 23 March 2007, 15:53
In order to prevent any difficulties by replacing types, I want to activate the function, which generates shorter links. By this it will use the alias titels of my content for generating URLs. And in these aliases I will not use any special types. Thus replacement will not be necessary, if I furher did not use those types in section Title or category title. Is that right? Do you agree with me?

Correct. Make sure, however that you have title aliases entered for all content items. Otherwise you can end up with an empty URL.

When the 5 day test period is over, will I have to uninstall SEF Advance just before that, in order to keep my site running or will it automatically deactivate itself and returning automatically to the status of my website in the way it was running before SEF Advance has been installed?

You will have to uninstall it before the trial period is over. If you let it expire it will display an error message on the site.

Could be Itemid issue?
Is iJoomla added to main menu as component?
Turn on debug and see if Itemid gets a value.
